? >> reporter: these apartments are only a half a block away from oak grove high school. the fbi said it arrested two people on federal drug charges. fbi agents in suits were at the blossom hill apartments after 5:00 this morning. here they're arresting one of two men. they're facing federal charges for conspiracy to distribute meth. >> today the fbi, along with our local partners conducted a number of law enforcement actions, interdictions across the san jose area. >> reporter: the fbi says its gang task force in the south bay led the operation. the agency won't say if the suspects are part of a larger organized group or gang, but agents needed help from neighboring police departments to make the arrests. >> again, i can't comment on the number of officers that were out there. but there was an appropriate number of tactical personnel, fbi s.w.a.t. personnel involved in several interdictions, in addition to numerous others across the san jose area. >> reporter: neighbors at the blossom hill apartments say they're not surprised by the early morning raid. >> i mean it's not the first ti

from the fbi and the atf are expected to join this investigation some time tomorrow. when vallejo mayor osby davis saw the magnitude of the damage to the law office he shares with michael thompson, the mayor couldn't help but shed a few tears. davis later told the vallejo times herald to say he is upset would be an understatement. the fire was reported at about 1:30 saturday morning at the small office building on tuolumne street across from the solano superior court. investigators think someone set the fire intentionally. >> a suspicious fire at this time, it's under investigation and we hopefully have some more information in the coming days as to the cause of the fire. >> reporter: vallejo police say the same building has been targeted by vandals in the past few months, who have thrown rocks through windows. and while investigators search for a motive for the fire, they say they are now looking at all the possibilities, including if mayor davis has any political enemies who would want to target him. >> well, the fact that it involves the mayor of vallejo, the fact that he is a high p

the weekend. the fbi is investigating the fire as a possible act of domestic terrorism. nbc bay area's jodi hernandez joins us in vallejo this evening. jodi, what do we have tonight? >> reporter: raj, vallejo police say they fully expect to have the fbi and atf help in this investigation. they say evidence that they pulled from mayor osby davis' office has now been sent to an atf lab. meanwhile, the mayor is finally talking about what happened here. mayor osby davis talked to reporters about the arson fire for the first time this morning. he said he does believe the torching was political. while he would not elaborate on who he believes is behind it, he certainly has had plenty of critics through the years. he has most recently taken a lot of heat for a slew of officer-involved shootings. the mayor says whoever is responsible, he is determined not to let this steer him from his profession as a lawyer or from his duties as mayor. >> although i believe that the last criminal act is part of an escalating attempt to intimidate me, let me make it very, very clear. it has failed. i am not now nor
